About the Panel
Tony Sarris
Founder and Principal, N2Semantics
Tony is an IT consultant in Orange County, California with his own boutique consultancy specializing in semantic technologies. In a nutshell, it's all about making applications smarter by giving them knowledge about the world they operate in -- our world. Tony would like to see apps that are software agents or automated assistants actually helping us humans in our day-to-day lives. That could mean helping to find a product, restaurant or 'infotainment' content he might like, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.
James Kobielus
Big Data Evangelist, IBM
James Kobielus is an industry veteran and serves as IBM’s big data evangelist. He spearheads IBM’s thought leadership activities in Big Data, Hadoop, enterprise data warehousing, advanced analytics, business intelligence, data management, and next best action technologies. He works with IBM’s product management and marketing teams in Big Data. He has spoken at such leading industry events as Hadoop Summit, Strata, and Forrester Business Process Forum. He has published several business technology books and is a very popular provider of original commentary on blogs and many social media.
Adrian Bowles
Founder of STORM Insights, inc.
Adrian is an industry analyst and recovering academic, providing research and advisory services for buyers, sellers, and investors in emerging technology markets including cognitive computing, big data/analytics, and cloud computing. He has held executive positions at several consulting and analyst firms. Adrian also held academic appointments in computer science at Drexel University and SUNY-Binghamton, and adjunct faculty positions in the business schools at NYU and Boston College. He began his career with research and application development roles at IBM and GTE Laboratories.
Adrian earned his BA in Psychology and MS in Computer Science from SUNY-Binghamton, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Northwestern University.
