About the Speakers

wendybezotte.jpgWendy Bezotte is the Data Governance Program Manager for the University of Michigan Medical School’s Data Governance program. Wendy has over 20 years of leadership and data management experience in the healthcare, biotech and pharmaceutical industries. She’s responsible for the management and performance of the Data Governance Program, leading the day-to-day operations to deliver on information quality, standards and value, while working closely with Business and IT leaders across the University. Wendy is active in planning the expansion of data governance, increasing scope to include all data across Michigan Medicine.

kristycahoon.jpgKristy Cahoon is the Data Quality Manager at Renown Health in Reno, NV, responsible for moving forward enterprise data governance and data quality improvement initiatives. Current projects include stewardship of an enterprise data warehouse, provider master data management, and the development of Renown’s first enterprise report catalog and business glossary. She also manages the work of the Data Governance Committee, 20+ executive-level representatives of Renown’s acute/post-acute facilities, medical group, ACO, and health plan. Prior to beginning her work in data governance, she received her PhD in Interdisciplinary Social Psychology research from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Johnson_James.jpgWith over 20 years of experience in various areas of IT across multiple industries, Jimm Johnson serves as Data Governance Program Manager for Scripps Health, one of the largest healthcare providers in San Diego. Jimm launched the framework for an enterprise data governance program with the company's Epic electronic health record (EHR) and revenue cycle implementation, and is now evolving that DG program toward its next phase of operationalizing DG using a “data asset management” model to govern specific data assets (reports, metrics, extracts, data marts, glossary terms) and engage owners & stewards with the responsibilities & expectations for their official DG roles.  Jimm received undergraduate degrees in business administration, finance and Spanish literature and psychology from Western Michigan University and a master’s in counseling psychology from San Diego State University.
